How to get a television writing job?
I have written a few things but nobody really wants to take a look at them, I was also talking with someone online a few weeks ago and he said the best way to get in the door was to get on a Television Shows‘ writing team-just some weekly show.
I was wondering if anybody knows how???
In the industry it is who you know. And if you do not know any insiders, it is very, very hard to break in. There are thousands of would be screenwriters working at waiters and parking valets in LA while they do the networking that they hope will land them their big break. Many take screen writing courses in LA as some of these are taught by industry insiders and they may know someone who knows someone.
And the studios do not want to look at your stuff because they are afraid that if they think of something similar some day, you may sue them. The industry pretty well only goes with scripts that they commission.
