What does VHS look like on a 1080p Lcd Television?
Though I no longer use VHS, I have often wondered what would happen if you tried to mix old technology with new technology. Would VHS look better or worse then it does on a standard television?
it will look very bad. the old 13 inch color TV covered a lot of sins. when blown up to the big screen you will notice a lot of snaking or waves on vertical lines. poor resolution, only 240 lines luminence, and color appears as smears at only 40 lines resolution. And that is for best quality pre-recorded VHS. home movies made with a single tube camera will be even worse. videos that are copies will have even more shakes and “coring” so that people and objects often look like they were drawn as cartoons.
